“This project is the first batch of key projects introduced in the Free Trade Zone, and it is the first medical laboratory project to be launched. The signing, site selection, registration, and start of construction were completed within four months, reflecting BGI's high efficiency,” said Zhu Tianzhu, assistant to the director of the Airport Management Committee.

“Beijing BGI-GBI Medical Laboratory adheres to the construction requirements of high starting point, high standards and high quality, builds an automated, intelligent and full-platform medical laboratory center, and undertakes the daily testing demand of 20,000 samples within the radiation radius, and comprehensively improves the delivery capacity,” said Zhang Guocheng, general manager of Beijing BGI-GBI Biotech Co., Ltd. (GBI).
“In addition to service functions, as BGI's medical service demonstration center in North China, the medical laboratory will help explore and innovate medical examination models, provide a new paradigm for the steady development of the medical testing industry, and become a new engine to promote the development of regional life science research and health industry.” Mr. Zhang added.
